Alice met up with a top livestream host in China, as well her biggest fan, to learn what makes this experience so addictive. Alice and Sophia also look into how the US is starting to catch on.

Livestreaming is big business in China, with the top live streamers making more than $100,000 per month broadcasting regular shows through a multitude of apps. Unlike Twitch, these streaming apps are made for entertainment rather than gaming. Could livestream fever take hold in the United States? Sophia tries out the popular Chinese livestreaming app YY for a month to see what it’s like to broadcast her life. In the process, she speaks to several people who have studied the industry, including Hao Wu, director of the upcoming documentary “People’s Republic of Desire.”

The secret to a male birth control pill may lie in a deadly poisonous plant.

Dr. Gunda Georg is leading a team of researchers out of the University of Minnesota in a quest to develop a non-hormonal birth control pill for men. She wants to help even out the burden of family planning between men and women, and she thinks the answer may lie in a heart-stopping plant extract from the Climbing Oleander plant used as arrow poison in parts of Africa.

The astronomical and historic virtual reality event will be available all around the world in 4K resolution at CNN.com/eclipse, CNN’s mobile apps, Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus via Samsung VR, Oculus Rift via Oculus Video and through CNN’s Facebook page via Facebook Live 360.

“CNN’s Eclipse of the Century” will allow users to witness the first total solar eclipse to traverse the United States for the first time in nearly 40 years.
